Are mask mandates a good idea?

I’m not for masks or against masks. I’m not for vaccinations or against vaccinations. I believe that if you want to wear a mask, that’s up to you. I believe that if you want to get a vaccination, that’s up to you.

I also believe that the government might be overstepping when it tells us we must wear a mask; or we must get a vaccination.

Let’s think about this for a minute. If you are pro-mandates, then I want to know if you’re truly pro-mandate, or just for this particular instance. How would you feel if the government mandated that you exercise 3x a week for 30 minutes each time? How would you feel if the government mandated your BMI (body mass index) be between 18.5 and 24.9?

Let’s pretend that a BMI mandate is in place with the same restrictions that some cities have in place (or some people are proposing/have proposed). If I am overweight, I can’t go to a restaurant. I could lose my job. I could not enter a movie theater unless I showed proof that I am participating in an exercise program or on some type of diet.

I can’t wrap my head around that some people think that’s OK.

Why is it that Voter ID is racist and a vaccine passport isn’t? Aren’t they the same thing too?
